I just had a flash of “brilliance” in which I realized the rich potential of an Onion-style news story lampooning the much-heralded arrival of the Beatles to iTunes this week. My story would have been a fanfare-filled announcement that the Monkees are now available in Zune.
And by gar, the internet of course beat me to it by one day. In the age where “hyperlocality” is a necessary term, can anyone claim an idea as their own, knowing that someone else’s version of it has already been published to the world?
