Before 2009 careens into 2010, I want to take stock of the best new music I’ve enjoyed so far. Here’s my current top ten list. I’ll write full descriptions, justifications, defenses, etc. at the end of the year when I finalize this. For now, if you need new music and trust my taste, start with #1 on this list and work your way down.
And hey, if you’re one of those “I don’t get Grizzly Bear, so why don’t you go cry in your boring hoodie” types, whatever, that’s fine, but definitely check out Bibio, which is vastly different but happens to also be on Warp and is just such a great and diverse album.
